MCALESTER, Okla. — The City of McAlester announced a new Amazon Delivery Station is on its way to the city.

The city said this is a door to new opportunities, jobs, and contribution to the local economic development.

Amazon is making its way to the City of McAlester.

Mayor Justin Few said the new delivery station will be at the Steven W. Industrial Park, bringing hundreds of new jobs to the city.

“We are so excited that Amazon chose our community to build a distribution center,” said Mayor Few. “It’s going to be a game changer for our community, and we are excited for them to be here.”

The delivery station is designed to help customers get their Amazon packages delivered faster.

The mayor said he is excited for what people who live in McAlester can gain from the new facility.

“Creating additional jobs and not only the jobs but they’re good paying jobs with benefits,” said Mayor Few.

There is no set date yet for when the facility will be completed, but the city said this investment shows McAlester is growing as a logistics and distribution hub.
