Screeching car tires, smashing bumpers and revved-up engines may not bring to mind food for the hungry, but that’s exactly what the sponsors of the “Cops and Robbers” Demolition Derby are hoping to accomplish.
The Tulsa RV Ranch and area county Sheriff Departments have come together to present the event to be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, at the TRV Ranch in Beggs. The event proceeds will benefit area food banks and churches.
“In conjunction with area county sheriff departments, the Ranch is striving to raise awareness and support of our local food banks,” said Morgan Madison, marketing and events director of the Ranch.
“Anyone coming to the event is encouraged to bring a canned food item which allows them a ticket for $5 instead of $10. Pit passes are $20. Children seven and under enjoy free admission. Also, for kids seven and under a Kids’ Power Wheels Class is offered.
To enter a car or power wheels, call 918.338.9440.
Those benefitting from the event include: the Okmulgee Homeless Shelter, Muskogee Creek Nation Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Program, Faith Church, Triumph Church and the Okmulgee Food Pantry.
