Farmers are searching for love on the new Fox reality show “Farmer Wants a Wife”, including a cattle rancher from Oklahoma.
Landon Heaton is one of four farmers featured on the show, which is described by Fox as “Yellowstone” meets “The Bachelor”. Each farmer begins their love journey with eight single women and eventually narrows their prospective partners down to five before ideally choosing one to be his wife.
In a press release from Fox, the show is described as, “Women will leave behind the dating apps and pursuit of love in ‘the big city’ in favor of classic American courtship. The farmers will take their group of daters to their farm and show them what it is really like to live as ranchers do—from tending to the homestead to feeding cattle and baling hay. For the daters, the realities of this lifestyle may beg the question: how much of your life are you willing to change for love?”
Heaton is a 35-year-old cattle rancher from Stillwater, according to Country Living Magazine. He said he’s had to adjust to life with TV cameras following him.
“It’s so crazy. There’s so many different people from all walks of life sitting at my little farmhouse ranch operation in the middle of nowhere and I don’t know, it’s nice being able to show other people that kind of my life,” said Heaton.
Singer-songwriter Jennifer Nettles, of the country duo Sugarland, hosts the series.
You can watch “Farmer Wants a Wife” Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
